Late November, Thanksgiving Weekend and there’s still plenty to do.-Kip Tabb

The 3Rd Annual Red Redfish Tournament is tomorrow at Jennette’s Pier in Nags Head. It kicks off at 8 a.m. with registration at 7 a.m. if you haven’t registered. $15 adults; $8 ages 12 and under. Bundle up–forecasts call for temps around 40 with a NE breeze around 15mph.

A quick scan of fishing reports shows consistent runs of puppy drum and red drum. A few flounder here and there, but that’s about it for right now. But if drum are running, it should be a good morning on the pier for the tournament.

For surfers, things finally cleaned up a bit. Waves looked about knee to thigh high this afternoon. There were a few surfers catching the break as the tide started coming in about 1:00 this afternoon. Definitely a full suit, boots and glove kind of day.

Wave should pick up a little for tomorrow, but with the NE wind blowing, it’s hard to say what conditions will be.

Don’t let hunger pangs stop your holiday shopping. TW’s is holding their 31st annual oyster roast Saturday at their Nags Head store.
